Kāla Siddhānta and chronobiology in Dinacharya
Pratibha Mishr
Kāla Siddhānta, the ancient Vedic understanding of time, finds deep integration in Ayurvedic daily health routines known as Dinacharya. This paper explores how the concept of time (Kāla), governed by cosmic rhythms and biological cycles, forms the foundation of Ayurvedic chronobiology. The correlation between doṣic fluctuations, sun-moon cycles, and daily routine highlights how physiological processes are synchronized with nature’s temporal patterns. Drawing upon classical Ayurvedic texts and modern biological insights, this study presents Dinacharya not only as a lifestyle guideline but as a precise chronotherapeutic tool for health promotion, disease prevention, and internal homeostasis.
